HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

Arise oh compatriots, Nigeria's call obey
To serve our Fatherland, with love and strength and faith
The labour of our hero's past shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
One Nation bound in Freedom, peace and Unity
That's our National anthem!

Our very dear country is 53 today! Am happy for the development as a patriotic citizen... But the issue on
ground concerning the Nigerian students can't be overlooked, students are getting old at home, due to the unending strike by ASUU.
Some students have gone into harmful things and habits, dangerous to them and to the society, due to idleness...

TU9 was able to get the opinion from students of various universities around the country...

in their own words;
- I don't think the Government  is set to attend to that now, going by what The President said yesterday, on a Presidential chat... My candid Opinion is that ASUU should shun pride and return to work if they have the interest of the students at heart. - Regal

- so being patriotic now... will be to celebrate wit Nigeria on her independence, without bringing up ASUU and the one thousand and two things wrong with her- Samuel

-ASUU Strike Economical Point Of View!!!
The ASUU strike is not in progress just to keep students at home for nothing, its part of the Government economic policy in other to stabilize the economy. 'cos we Nigerians fail to see the good in every bad.
1. The Government and ASUU came to an agreement to keep the strike going because its not a new thing that the labour market is over crowded so with the on going strike, it will help reduce the number of graduates searching for jobs thereby allowing the graduates in the labour market get jobs and high pay 'cos labour will be scarce.
2. If students stay at home for long after awhile, they will start to search for alternative means 'cos we humans have the will to survive so they will start to get themselves engaged in one or two handwork or trade or use their inner talents(which could be dangerous at times depending on their talent) to make money, before you know production will increase. e.g let some go into Farming or Tailoring, then you know the country will stop to import clothes and food from other countries which will in turn increase Nigeria's GDP, NI, and export then our import rate will drop which are signs of growth in a country.
so students take heart when the Government achieve this aim, the strike would be called off- ismaila

- The strike should be called off, A sound Education system, is part of the strong points of a country.

-Don't know what to do oh, since there's no hope that they would call it off- grace

Please this "famous unending strike" should be called off, so the students can go back to school... Remember we are the Giants of Africa!

All hail Nigeria! All hail Nigerian students!
Happy independence day to my fellow Nigerian's in the country and in diaspora!
     God bless Nigeria!
