Schooling in Nigeria or Outside?

Hearing so many stories/advices from our "elders" while growing up about how important education is, for a better future, for us as individuals and for a nation as a whole.Well that worked, because virtually every child wants an education for a bright future.

Then we were also thought, that being a patriotic citizen was almost "the ultimate", i say so because, thats how they made it sound and seem, when things like "we are africans", "its tradition", were said to us when we tried to adapt the western culture.

But then, it beats me, as to when it comes to higher learning, these same elders start to discreminate between
tertiary institutions within the country and outside the country, between graduates that schooled outside and within the country, giving prefrence to internatinal scholars, when it came to jobs and other high positions in the society.

Now where do we go from here? We need answers? Where do we stand?
Every youth is still a child 'cause when we meet an elder, He/She would refer to us as "my child".

Happy childrens day to "The Nigerian Child" !!!

  3. Yes, I agree with you on this one, the same elders that ring "be a patrotic Nigerian and serve your father land to the last drop of ur blood" into our ears are the same elders that send their children abroad to acquire foriegn certificates so they can return and become better thieves of public funds than they were.. These so called elders make the lives of average Nigerians that were truly patrotic unbearable or else ofcourse they have foriegn certificates and strong connections, if not "OYO" for you.. I don't know where this taking us, our own schools are abandoned and foriegn schools are patronised leaving our educational system delapetaded.. God help us all cos we are going nowhere with this attitude.. Our elders sud please have a change in heart.. Meanwhile dis site is bam, good one chick..
