Protest continues in Uniabuja... Medicine students "Man up" for their Rights!

Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me, and the entire human race... There goes Micheal Jackson of blessed memory. We hear songs of peace everyday, but does it really work? Do people really give preachers of peace, what they want? A classic case is that of the accreditation of some courses in "the university of Abuja". It is no longer news that some departments of the university, recently revolted as a result of non-accreditation of some courses. It was a long protest, that caused the school to go on strike for months. According to sources, students from Vet., Computer Science, Agric., Engineering and Medicine department all joined forces to protest in the beginning, but along the line Medicine and some other courses pulled or "chickened" out, for reasons withheld. Months later, the voices of Engineering students were finally heard and their case was sorted out, leaving the others behind. Hmm... Does this mean that only the strong and competent to fight till the very end, take it by force? I guess that is what's on the mind of Medicine students protesting now... Should the bull be taken by the horn before rights are given in a country like ours?.... Just asking? A Nation with full regards for its future should and must prioritize Education, giving it all it takes to attain its lofty height; that includes the accreditation of courses in our institutions.

  2. Hmmmm! Its quite sad d@ dis is happening to innocent individuals(students) of this nation. Who is to be blamed for all dis confusion, is it the school(Uniabuja), NUC, the Govt or the students? Obviously, the students can not be blamed coz dey are @ the receiving side of it. Where do they go from here, imagine all the stress they went tru in passing SSCE, JAMB, Post-Jamb and securing their admission. If their department's acredition have bin withdrawn the Fed Govt via the NUC sud have issued transcript to th affected students so they can continue in any school of their choice. Its quite frustrating and demoralising. Let the concerned organistions pls come together to resolve this issue and fast too coz the lives of these students are being wasted by the day..
